One of the Boys

Simple, menswear inspired dressing is one trend that is so big at the moment, especial among the sartorial elite. I have always been a fan of androgynous style and you'll often find me in the mens section of a store eyeing the coats, shirts and simple tee's and sweaters.

Francois Hardy, Sophia Coppola, Nico, Jane Birkin and Caroline de Maigret are masters!

FOXTROT WHISKEY

Californian lady Jesse Kamm's self titled label founded in 2005 is a direct reflection of her lifestyle and love of all things natural and beautiful. With her hand printed, sustainable textiles, Kamm is also committed to limit her impact on the environment through her unique collections.
Her fall 2013 collection "Foxtrot Whiskey" isn't available yet, but the simple tailoring and gorgeous colour palette, as well as the stunning lookbook, are definitely inspiring my own winter adventures and style for our incoming chilly season.

FEATHERS WILL FLY

Kate Moss by Mario Testino for UK Vogue May 2013

These black and white images from the shoot are my favourites. Testino has captured Mossy's signature youthful charm in a mature and sensual light.

CASUAL LISTENING

A new collaborative record from Jack Carty and producer Casual Psychotic comes in the form of an awesome EP called "The Predictable Crisis of Modern Life". I think the concept of teaming such different artists together is pretty cool and the result is too.

The record consists of Carty's signature smooth vocals and thoughtful lyrics but is also layered with a dynamic mix of electronics and acoustics that create a new sound that is different, but equally as pleasant to listen to.

The Ep artwork is rad too, a great refection of the juxtapositions going on in the record I think.

WORKING

Vanishing Elephant has very quickly become one of my favourite labels since they started not too many years ago and with good reason. The three men behind the label have such a fantastic handwriting of both quality and design that is unrivalled in the Australian market. The newest extension of their creative prowess, this time in print form is something, like their clothes, that is unique and inspiring yet completely expected from the talented trio. The Zine "Working" includes poems, stories and photographs from people and places that inspire the brand to provide insight into the processes behind Vanishing Elephant, as well as some images from their flawless Autumn Winter '13 campaign.
Issue #1  can be downloaded for free from the Vanishing Elephant website.

"This publication begins to tell our story via what we
know and like and traces how these elements
come together to form who we are as a
clothing brand." - Introduction to Working issue #1 2013
